Insulation work
- Step 1: GI Duct surface iscleaned and all the dust particles are removed. Also remove any grease or debris if present.
- Step 2: Apply Duct Adhesive on the GI sheet with the help of brush or roller on all the 4 side of the rectangular duct.Starglue 81-10 applied with brush or roller
- Step 3: Wait 10-15 minutes and when the surface becomes touch dry, the fiber glass wool insulation is wrapped on the surface of duct.
- Step 4: In order to protect the fiber glass insulation from external damage, canvas cloth is wrapped around the glass fiber wool insulation.
- Step 5: To bond the Canvas Cloth with the fiber glass wool insulation, a water based thermal insulation is used. Thermal insulation coating is applied with a brush or roller. It provides excellent heat and UV resistance. It is very important to ensure that each coat is totally cured before the next coat is applied.
- Step 6: To counter the possibility of mold and fungus growth, an Anti-Fungal Duct Coating is applied on top of the Thermal Insulation Coating. It is very important to ensure that each coat is totally cured before the next coat is applied.
- Step 7: When Ducts are in an Open Atmosphere, there is a high chance of rain and moisture causing damage to the Insulation Coating. In order to protect the Duct System a specialized Vapor Barrier Coating is applied so that the surface becomes anti-fungal, fire retardant and waterproof. Some applicators may directly apply over the Thermal Insulation Coating. It provides excellent water resistance & tough weather protection.
